The McDowell Hospital Emergency Department serves the emergent health care needs of County residents, as well as those passing through our community in need of care. Services are available 24/7 with a full contingent of staff and ancillary components in total readiness. Emergency care is available to anyone presenting regardless of race, color, creed or ability to pay. Care is provided by trained medical and nursing staffs, in cooperation with community Emergency Medical Service and Rescue Squad. ACLS and PALS certification is required of all staff registered nurses. Air transport is also available for those patients requiring care beyond the capability of our acute care facility.
