Founded in 1908, McDowell Hospital is a small, rural, not-for-profit member of the Mission Health System, serving our community in the Western Carolina mountains.  McDowell Hospital is staffed to accommodate 49 Acute Care beds.  

Our surrounding mountains and nearby lakes provide ample opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities while the local community provides a rich array of cultural events.  McDowell County is within short driving distance to Asheville and Black Mountain, NC.  The Charlotte International Airport is 90 minutes to the East.
